On Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th of August 2011 in the early hours Second Life was trending in Google Trends for awhile. Interesting to see the mention of “second life” on the Google Trends page. I wonder if there was a surge in new residents during the weekend because of the mention and that would be good to know if there was. Below shows “second life” in third place among the other big topics around the world. Woooot!

The trending seems to have shot up recently.
I noticed yesterday that SL sign-ups have been soaring the past two days:-

Tyche’s Gridsurvey reports the same.
40,000+ on Monday
26,000+ on Tuesday
I do wonder if there’s a correlation.

Very interesting results. It looks like the top Second Life searches are just coincidental with “second life” title selection, but it’s interesting to see that SL’s economic stats are 4th and SLCC in in there too. It got my heart pitter-patting.
