On Wednesday 6th April the lab released new build updates for the Second Life Alpha Mobile on iOS and Android versions.
There are some exciting new updates in this release from improvements to avatar rendering to teleports. There are now improvements to performance, group message fixes and region crossings are now more reliable.
The minimum Android required is now Android 10. Passwords are limited to 16 characters currently.
Here’s a more complete list of changes:
- Version control: We now have the ability to require specific versions of the app.
- Streaming Audio UI: New Streaming Audio UI is now available!
- Enhanced Teleport & Region Crossing: Teleports now directly teleport your avatar and region crossings are more reliable, too.
- Performance Improvements: Faster update rate. Render Scale setting has been restored.
- Communication: Group message fixes, including fixes to the order of messages.
- System Support: The minimum Android version required is now Android 10
- Avatar Rendering updates: Major improvements to avatar shape deformers and fixes for missing avatars.
- Login: Passwords are limited to 16 characters
- Debug info: Bug reports now include deep profiling information
