Linden Homes Total Parcels & Average Occupancy Rates In Second Life – June 2024 Update

Patch Linden has shared some new updated statistics on total parcels and the average occupancy rates. The focus is on the Bellisseria continent and the old Linden Homes that are still active today.

Patch says that “not all themes are a guaranteed success, and that’s perfectly acceptable to us. Having capacity is beneficial for our future growth plans“. Patch goes on to say that “consequently, we are enhancing and revisiting this theme by adding more floor plans and home choices, for instance. Expect more updates soon, such as the theme poll“.

> New LH Statistics from Patch Linden

Bellisseria consists of 44,734 total parcels of which the average occupancy across all themes and types is 71.80%.  The old Linden homes come in at 41,730 total parcels with an average occupancy across all of 23.07% (not a bad guess)“.

Since I see some chatter about it, some occupancy stats at the tips of my fingers: Houseboats 87%, Stilts 100%, Victorian 87%, Mediterranean 97%, Newbooke 1024 85%. Newbrooke 512 47%. Sakura 1024 75%”

The old linden homes on average are all around sub 20% levels

Thanks to Patch Linden and the team at the lab for releasing these new updated statistics to do with Linden Homes (old-new).

Future Of Old Linden Homes – June 2024 Update

Patch Linden gave a small update at SL21B on Wednesday 26th June on the future of the old Linden Home continents in Second Life. Patch said that the more time that goes on the more likely it’s getting closer. There are no hard or firm timeline commitment dates as of June 2024.

  • Linden Lab has this on their mind always on when to start that project and when is the right time to do so
  • It’s always under consideration because it comes up every several months (every six months)
  • The lab is always evaluating it

Patch goes on to say that if it were to happen at some point like within the next six months to a year in conjunction with these upcoming new theme updates with a robust selection across the board of things to choose from then you know then it would be a likely scenario.

By SL22B in June 2025 we should know more about the future of Linden Home themes.

Bellisseria consists of 44,734 total parcels of which the average occupancy across all themes and types is 71.80%.  The old Linden homes come in at 41,730 total parcels with an average occupancy across all of 23.07% (not a bad guess)”.

Linden Lab Working On New Project Featuring Adult-Centric Welcoming Experience

At SL21B on Wednesday 26th June Patch Linden mentioned that Linden Lab is working on a new project that aims to streamline the onboarding process for new Second Life residents interested in adult content. Apparently it will consist of a new adult-centric welcoming experience.

Patch mentions that this new adult experience will “include community living spaces, commercial environments, continental size land masses. It’s a whole new look and feel and approach to a new way that we might think of having adult community in Second Life”.

The lab is working on this new project over the next 6-8 months. More announcements are expected to happen later in the year into

  • There are no plans to expand the Zindra continent in Second Life

Patch Linden explained about the next project below…

In the background, and as we’ve kind of alluded to before, we’ve been considering and thinking about other spicy-like initiatives and such. Our mission has consistently been to try to foster opportunities for creators, including those in the adult content community. Since the launch of Zindra and Horizons, we’ve been exploring ways to serve and expand our community of creators and folks interested in mature content. In alignment with that mission, I’m just going to say that we have a new project that is an initiative that aims to streamline the onboarding process for new Second Life residents interested in adult content to come into Second Life.

It will consist of a new adult-centric welcoming experience. It will introduce them to mature content. It will primarily focus on helping them acclimate to the platform. It is a work in progress. We’ve got quite a bit to do here. Along with our other various projects, it has quite a few different features to it that include community living spaces, commercial environments, and continental-size land masses. It’s a whole new look and feel and approach to a new way that we might think of having an adult community in Second Life.

So, we’re going to, over the next six to eight months, be working on this in the background, and you’ll hear more about it in the future. We’re super excited that we’re getting to do this particular project, and I think folks are going to love it. It will be an approach unique to its own, and folks both new and old will be able to come in and enjoy adult content in a new environment and setting that I think will be very fitting for it. Stay tuned; there’ll be more to come in the future.
