Windows 11 Launch Day

Today (5th October) Windows 11 launches worldwide as a free upgrade for Windows 10 users. Windows 11 comes with many significant design changes along with new changes on how the system works under the hood.

Windows 11 should work with the default Second Life viewer, the latest Firestorm viewer and other third party viewers. It’s important to note that Microsoft will be rolling out Windows 11 in waves from now until late 2022+ depending on your device. It could be days, weeks or even months.

Microsoft will support Windows 10 until October 2025 apparently. There is no need to rush or panic into getting Windows 11 in the short term.

I would imagine within the next 6 – 12 months Linden Lab will update the System Requirements page where Windows 11 will be hopefully be added.

We will have to wait and see.
