SL Christmas Expo 2022 Is Fast Approaching

The 12th annual Second Life Christmas Expo for 2022 will open to the public next week on Friday 2nd December through until Sunday 11th December 2022. The SL Christmas Expo 2022 theme is The Magic of Holiday Stories.

The SL Christmas Expo regions have arrived on the grid and now work is underway to get them ready for the big grand opening next week. The SL Christmas Expo is spread across 12 regions (Chapters – different holiday story) featuring more than 150 shops and more.

There will be live entertainment, live performances, special hunts, decoration competitions, photos with Santa and much more. The return of Linden Lights of Hope region showcasing Linden Homes from Linden Lab. There could new details announced about the next Linden Home theme during the expo.

12th Annual SL Christmas Expo 2022 Starts 2nd to 11th December

This year’s 12th annual Second Life Christmas Expo for 2022 will be starting on Friday 2nd December through until Sunday 11th December. The theme for the 2022 SL Christmas Expo is The Magic Of Holiday Stories.

The SL Christmas Expo is a mega annual event that raises funds for the American Cancer Society and the expo will be once again supporting the Childhood Cancer initiatives of The Society. All money proceeds of the SL Christmas Expo will be sent to the research, support programs etc to help children with cancer.

There will be the annual entertainment with live music and special events during the expo to enjoy like in previous years. The teleport links to the SL Christmas Expo will be published on 2nd December 2022.

Linden Reveal Region Shut Down For An Update

Just after 10am SLT this morning Patch Linden has posted an update via the Second Life Forums on the current status of the Linden Reveal region which is now showcasing the newest Linden Home theme Modern homes. From the feedback the lab has received during the past 24 hours the lab have decided to shut down the reveal region for an update.

It should not last very long though as the reveal region will be back Really Soon after the Moles have “put some touches on it to make sure our imagination is still reflected in our work”.

From the sounds of things something has gone wrong because I can’t remember this happening in previous year launches. Hopefully the lab/moles will be able to sort this out as soon as possible.

We have heard your feedback and we have decided to shut down the reveal region for an update.  It seems that this may not have been representative of our best foot forward approach we have taken with the homes over the past.  So I am here to make sure that everyone knows that we have not changed course, lessened our quality, mindfulness or retracted any of the heart and soul we put in to making these homes, themes and community building areas.  

Proof of the fact that I feel less present is actually due to how busy we are with continuing to do more, which is taking more and more of my time.  I am still present, we all do still participate in everything we can in world within Bellisseria, and we are always trying to find new ways to engage on everything we can, including some great Resident run efforts and projects that I know many are involved in.  

That said, the reveal region will be back Really Soon™ after we’ve put some touches on it to make sure our imagination is still reflected in our work.

Modern Homes Is The Next Linden Home Theme

First Preview

The new Linden Home theme is Modern which was officially revealed to the public this afternoon on the Linden Reveal region at the 2021 SL Christmas Expo. The official theme name is “Newbrooke” and it’s many are saying it’s Meadowbrook 2.0.

• The Linden Homes Preview link on the Second Life Destination Guide has just gone live today
• There may be more than 30 homes per region when released

Don’t forget that the Linden Reveal region is just a demo of what’s to come and this is not a full representation of the finished production regions. There are some larger and some smaller Modern homes located on the preview region with a few swimming pools, seating areas, rez zones and more.

• Aldridge – 1024 – 2 storey
• Bradbury – 1024 – 1 storey
• Coniston – 1024 – 1 storey
• Denver – 512 – 1 storey
• Ender – 512 – 2 storey
• Faraday – 512 – 1 storey

The feedback has been very mixed inworld and on the Second Life forums Linden Homes section. I think this may be a good upgrade for those that have a Linden Home on the old Linden Home continents and the Moles have said this is a work in progress until the big release happens soon.

The Next Linden Home Theme Reveal Will Be On Monday 6th December

Linden Lab will be officially announcing the next Linden Home theme on Monday 6th December. The news came today on the Second Life blog post named Joy to the Grid! Join us for these Special Holiday Events and Activities!. The lab mentions in the blog post about the annual snowball fight, winter wonderland, the Swaginator, the SL Christmas Expo, Holiday Shop & Hop event and winter attractions to explore.

The reveal is next week and that will be most interesting to find out what it will be. There are many saying it may be Meadowbrook 2.0 or modern looking homes. We will have to wait and see.

New theme of Linden Homes will be revealed on Monday, December 6th! Watch this space – to be published on Monday!

In the mean time the SL Christmas Expo is open to visit running until 14th December spread over 15 regions. I will post more blog updates soon.

2021 SL Christmas Expo Opens Friday December 3^rd
“The 12 Days of Christmas” Helping To Fight Childhood Cancer

Since 2011, the SL Christmas Expo has been “Giving The Gift of Hope”, and is dedicated to children with cancer. The event which supports the American Cancer Society, is the premier Holiday shopping and entertainment event in Second Life. Opening on December 3^rd, the “12 Days of Christmas” features more than 150 stores and shoppes, spread over 15 gorgeously designed regions, and brings together merchants, Breedables, entertainers, and volunteers for 12 days of shopping, music, auctions, and holiday special events.  

As always the Holly Jolly Café presents the top performers in Second Life for nearly non-stop entertainment. Buy a ticket for the Holiday Shopping raffles, visit the Christmas Tree Lot and the Merchant village or stop for a Picture With Santa.

Once again, American Cancer Society partner Linden Lab will take part in the Expo with special surprises and events.  Take a picture with Santa Patch & the Elf Moles, get a Limited Edition Patch on a Shelf elf, and check out the newest Linden Homes at the 2021 winter reveal region.

And don’t forget to check out the Holiday Lights at The Lights of Hope home decorating competition, returning once again for 2021. The Lights of Hope regions feature homes decorated for the holidays by some of the best home designers in Second Life and an entire region of Linden Homes decorated by Lindens and Moles. SL Christmas Expo 2021 Regions Have Arrived

22nd November 2021

The 2021 SL Christmas Expo regions have arrived on the grid this week with just ten days to go until the grand opening. The region naming is very good this year and it’s going to be great to see they open next week. The regions are closed to the public at the moment while preparations continue.

There will be many special events happening during the course of the event and live entertainment. There will be raffles, contests, auctions, breedables and much more during the Christmas season. There may be news about the next Linden Home theme like announced in previous years. It’s not been confirmed yet if that will be the case for this year.

I think the SSPLOH region (located far far away) will be most likely be joined up with the main expo regions at some point next week.

SL Christmas Expo 2021: Bloggers & Vloggers needed

The SL Christmas Expo 2021 is right around the corner now with a three weeks left to go until the big opening. The event organizers are now looking for official SL Christmas Expo V/Bloggers for the event who love the Christmas / Holiday season. Successful blogger will get early access to the SL Christmas Expo regions first before they open to the public and will receive official press releases etc.

It’s a great opportunity for those that truly want to showcase the magic of the Expo regions and merchant creations. The team are looking for Home & Garden, Fashion, Kids / Youth, Breedables and more general bloggers.

SL Christmas Expo 2021 Confirmed For 3rd – 14th December 2021

The 11th annual SL Christmas Expo & Winter Breedable Fair will officially be taking place from Friday 3rd December through until Tuesday 14th December 2021. The 2021 dates, the 2021 theme and some information is now showing on the SL Christmas Expo website.

SL Christmas Expo is a mega event that raises funds for the American Cancer Society and the expo will be supporting the Childhood Cancer initiatives of The Society. All the proceeds of the Expo will be directed to support research, support programs and efforts to help children with cancer.

• The SL Christmas Expo has raised more than $175, 000 US over the past ten years
• $32, 510 US was raised for the 2020 SL Christmas Expo event

The theme for 2021 is The 12 Days of Christmas and registration is now open for expo merchants + winter fair merchants + auction market places. Click on the links to find out what the 2021 package options are this year.

Linden Lab have posted details about the 10th annual Second Life Christmas Expo on the official Second Life blog this weekend which is worth checking out. The 10th annual SL Christmas Expo features over 225 merchants and nearly 100 live performers.
