Visit The Fantasy Faire 2022

The Fantasy Faire 2022 in Second Life opened it’s doors to the public on 21st April and has been very popular so far. The event ends on Sunday 8th May 2022 so there is still time to visit the 2022 Fantasy Faire. The Fantasy Faire is one of the major events in the Relay For Life of Second Life season.

The Fairelands have returned from the Mists; twenty fantasy worlds forming a circle of lands, a chain of people across the many realms. Welcome home, Fairelanders!

The best place to get started is at the Fairelands Junction. This year there are 20 regions in total to explore full of awesomeness and nice scenery. Don’t forget “The Faire has long been considered the premier annual shopping event for fantasy-themed merchandise in Second Life, showcasing fantasy avatars, clothing, furnishings, gadgets, and exclusive items by 250 of the grid’s top fantasy creators”.

Fantasy Faire 2022 Blogger Applications Now Open

Great news to share today is that the Fantasy Faire 2022 blogger applications are now open and you can apply here. The Fantasy Faire is a huge charity event in Second Life benefiting the American Cancer Society. It offers live performances, immersive quests, auctions, Literary Festival events, roleplay, games, shopping and much more. There is a Discord group or the inworld group while we wait for the event to start.

The 2022 Fantasy Faire will open to the public on Thursday 21st April 2022 through until Sunday 8th May 2022. For more event details please read the press release below and spread the word around the grid. Thanks.

Fantasy Faire 2022: Building a World Without Cancer

Since 2009, Fantasy Faire has been the largest gathering of fantasy designers, enthusiasts, role-players, and performers in the virtual world of Second Life®. It is also one of the most successful Relay For Life (RFL) fundraising teams worldwide. The 2021 Faire ranked 19th out of 5,000 RFL teams around the globe. Over its fourteen years, the Faire has raised close to $530,000 US Dollars, or over L$133,250,000 Linden Dollars.

For the past five years, the Faire has dedicated its fundraising efforts to the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) global service and support programs, including the recently launched project BEACON (Building Expertise, Advocacy, and Capacity for Oncology Navigation).

A partnership with nine health institutions and organizations in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, BEACON builds on the success of similar ACS programs in the US and elsewhere. The project answers the call from healthcare professionals and cancer patients in those areas for life-saving information that can dramatically increase survival rates. “Fantasy Faire is one of the cornerstones of our vital work,” says Kristie McComb, Managing Director of Global Capacity Development and Patient Support at the ACS. “It’s an inspiring example of a global community working together to address a global challenge.”

The Faire has long been considered the premier annual shopping event for fantasy-themed merchandise in Second Life, showcasing fantasy avatars, clothing, furnishings, gadgets, and exclusive items by 250 of the grid’s top fantasy creators. In addition, Faire visitors enjoy dance and theater performances; attend auctions, art galleries, and a Literary and Film Festival; and share in an interactive quest and roleplaying events and classes.

Fantasy Faire Radio provides the soundtrack for visitors exploring the Fairelands, featuring music from blockbuster fantasy films along with a rich variety of world music traditions. A second radio station, “Live at the Fairechylde” features DJs spinning an upbeat, eclectic mix of tracks including classic rock, club music, jazz, blues, and pop hits. In 2021, more than 30,000 unique listeners tuned in from over 150 countries around the world.

It all comes to life again this year when the Fairelands return on April 21st. “I’m always deeply moved that a realm made of ones and zeros has become home to a global community capable of affecting positive change for all humankind” says Elizabeth Tinsley, Executive Director of Fantasy Faire. “It doesn’t stop at the border between the virtual and the physical. In fact, that’s where the real magic truly starts.”

Fantasy Faire 2022 in Second Life will be officially opening on Thursday 21st April through until Sunday 8th May 2022. The Fantasy Faire is the largest gatherings of fantasy designers, performers, role-players and enthusiasts in Second Life. This is a great opportunity to raise money in support of the American Cancer Society.

It’s a great event as it showcases the latest fantasy avatars, clothing, gadgets and exclusive items from 250 of the grid top fantasy creators. There is live performances, art galleries to visit, auctions, classes, literary & film festival and more.

Last year in 2021 the Fantasy Faire ranked 19th out of 5, 000 RFL teams around the world which is quite impressive. The event relayed L$23, 794, 648 ($95, 178) by the end of the Faire. Over fourteen years, the Faire has raised more than $533, 000 US Dollars (L$133, 250, 000 Linden Dollars).

Fantasy Faire Raised Almost 24 Million Linden Dollars

Fantasy Faire for 2021 in Second Life has finished for another year and for those that are interested Fantasy Faire the event will return in April 2022. Check out this blog post named All Things End via the Fantasy Faire blog.

Fantasy Faire 2021 relayed L$23,794,648 ($95,178) by the end of the Faire.

Fantasy Faire has raised an amazing amount of money with almost 24 million Linden Dollars ($95, 000 US Dollars) thanks to the Second Life community. This is all in support of Relay For Life and the American Cancer Society.

Press Release: Fantasy Faire 2021

A new press release has been sent out this weekend for the upcoming 2021 Fantasy Faire in Second Life which will be held from Thursday 22nd April though until Sunday 9th May 2021. The Fantasy Faire is the “largest gathering of fantasy designers, enthusiasts, roleplayers and performers in the virtual world”. Last year for 2020 the Fantasy Faire relayed L$18,875,500 – ($75,512 USD which is pretty amazing.

It will be a great opportunity to “treat yourself to shopping, dance and theater performances, DJ parties, auctions, questing, our Literary Festival, fantasy art, events and roleplaying”. There will be fantasy avatars, furnishings, gadgets, clothing and exclusive items.

From Thursday, April 22 to Sunday May 9, treat yourself to shopping, dance and theater performances, DJ parties, auctions, questing, our Literary Festival, fantasy art, events and roleplaying as thousands of Second Life residents and creators bring their own visions together to support the American Cancer Society’s vision of a world without cancer.

Our formal programming will conclude on Sunday, May 2nd with our Live Auction, but don’t despair, there is an additional week of shopping, questing, and exploring as the Fairelands will be open through Sunday, May 9th. That’s a total of eighteen days of the Faire – and you never know when something unexpected might happen in that final week!

As always, you’ll find fantasy avatars, clothing, furnishings, gadgets and exclusive items available from over 200 of Second Life’s top Fantasy Creators across stunning regions designed by some of the visionary artists behind many of the hottest spots on the Second Life destination guide.

In addition to the shopping regions there will also be Faireland realms that take us beyond commerce, from a Memorial Garden to the Fairelands Quest, the Literary Festival, Performance Stages, from Art Galleries to the Worldling Collection.

Here is the full press release for the upcoming 11th annual Fantasy Faire for 2019. This year the event will open on Thursday 18th April through until Sunday 5th May. The Fantasy Faire is the largest gathering of fantasy designers, enthusiasts, role-players and performers. Last year the Fantasy Faire relayed L$ 12, 500, 000 – ($50, 000) which is amazing.

The theme for 2019 is Builders Of Hope. The Fantasy Faire will be hosted on ten shopping regions hosting 200+ of Second Life’s top fantasy creators.

Tenth Annual Fantasy Faire 2018 Opens Today

The Tenth Annual Fantasy Faire in Second Life officially opens today through until Sunday 29th April 2018. The Fantasy Faire is one of the most well known and popular annual events in Second Life.

There will be Faire events including the Fairelands Quest, Literary Festival, Memorial Garden and Art Galleries to visit. There will be clothing, avatars, gadgets, exclusive items available from more than 200 of Second Life top Fantasy Creators. There will be DJ parties, auctions, theater performances, 10 shopping regions and roleplaying.

All funds from the Fantasy Faire go to support the American Cancer Society’s vision of a world without cancer. Last year the 2017 Fantasy Faire relayed L$ 9,031,915 – ($ 34,738) which is incredible.

Time to discover the magic this year

The Fantasy Faire is still open in Second Life and will remain open until Sunday 30th April 2017. This year there are 15 incredible sims worth exploring each with a different theme to them all. I am really impressed by the high level of detail of the builds, landscapes and the region themes this year.

Fantasy Faire 2015 raised L$7, 910, 480

The Fantasy Faire 2015 ended earlier this month in Second Life and this year it raised L$ 7, 910, 480 (US $31, 642) for Relay-For-Life. For more RFL of SL events visit the Totals Page.
