The Modern regions arrived on 6th February and since then the Moles have been building new roadways, lake areas and new Modern homes it appears. There is one region separating the chalet sub continent with the Modern sub continent in the far south. There are a lot of red squares at the moment and they are all going through many checks in order to get them ready for release very soon.
I predict the Modern regions will be released and open to the public before the end of February 2022 if you go on previous Linden Home release trends. I would expect the region mass will increase over the next few weeks and it’s possible that the work on the coastlines will start before Easter.
Latest New Developments as of 11th February 2022
The Newbank region looks like a new community center area or a shopping complex perhaps
There is a pond lake in the Home Grown region and many bridges in many areas
SSP3504, SSP3505, SSP3509, SSP3510, SSP3514 and SSP3515 regions have been added to the red SSP regions block
On Wednesday 9th February Patch Linden said this on the Second Life Forums “our release schedule isn’t tied to any event, or time/date for that matter at all typically. What matters to us is that when it is done and ready, then it will be released“.
I will blog more about further developments in the next week or so. Stay tuned on my blog for that and please subscribe to stay updated. Thanks 🙂
In the past week or so a new batch of Fantasy SSPE regions have been added down the western side of the Fantasy sub continent in Second Life. They appear dark on the world map (see below) from SSPE2736 to SSPE2721. The Moles are working on these new SSPE regions now adding hundreds of more Fantasy Linden Homes which will be available in the weeks ahead.
Further batches of new SSPE regions are set to arrive in the weeks ahead around the coastal areas of the Fantasy and Chalet sub continents. When those developments happen I will blog about it for sure. Stay tuned for that.
Keep a look out for new SSPE regions soon. It’s likely we will hear about the next Linden Home theme later this year and that will probably happen at the SL Christmas Expo 2021. At least another two LH themes during 2022 and maybe into 2023.
The new Chalet east development expansion starts at SSPE2218 going down the east coast through to SSPE2243. There are hundreds of houseboats and chalet homes planned that will be added in the weeks ahead. The map at certain zoom levels doesn’t appear the new regions at the moment. The new SSPE regions are actually there along the east coast of the Chalet sub continent when you explore them.
The Moles are working hard adding new Linden homes along the east coast along with cool new hangout areas. The central part of the Chalet sub continent is still being worked on (yellow squares) and I would imagine on the north coast there will be work soon to expand that out.
A new lighthouse area has been added in SSPE2224 which is worth visiting.
This week the lab have added five new SSPE regions on the east coast of the Chalet sub continent in Second Life. The new regions are SSPE2218, SSPE2219, SSPE2220, SSPE2221 and SSPE2222. Currently these new regions are closed for public access while the Moles add new Chalet Linden homes and new Houseboats down the east coast.
Cthulhu is being landscaped and is being prepared over the days ahead. The Moles are working on a number of SSPE regions at the moment in the log homes, chalets and fantasy homes sub continents. I think work could be finished before the end of 2021 with new Linden Home themes launching during 2022.
In October 2021 I will blog again on this new SSPE area and any newer developments going on. Stay tuned for that.
The Moles have been very busy in recent weeks building new Chalet Linden Homes and landscaping more of the Chalet sub continent which is apart of the Bellisseria continent. Good progress is being made through the middle central areas heading up north eastwards. Development mainly started in the Hydrant region at the start of June 2021 and now it’s reached the Brookside region. There is some work being made east of the Stilt regions which is due to be finished soon.
Work will start soon in the Baylor Creek region which will head all the way up to the Carmine Sky region. More Chalet Linden Homes are expected to be built in the weeks ahead and the new extension of the new Chalet railway line. There is still loads to look forward to and more new areas will be added in the weeks ahead.
As many know there is a new airstrip that has been built recently in the Bergheim region which looks really nice now. There is a rez zone here to unpack your planes/aircraft.
The Moles will be adding a whole lot of new Stilt and Chalet Linden Homes in the days and weeks near the SSPE1790 Bridge. The road goes through the south part of the Chalet continent merging with the new homes already built. At some point later this year the Moles will add more bridges connecting the north and south parts of the Chalet regions.
Work is still in progress with more new areas coming soon. This is still a massive Linden Lab/Moles project and its going to take time to finish all the recent Linden Home themes.
The Moles continue to add more Stilts around SSPE1783. There are more Stilts being added nearby which will be finished soon. It’s worth pointing out there is alot of development happening now even on the log homes continent.
The Chalet continent remains unchanged in terms of work developments as of 1st June 2021. It won’t be long until the Moles start adding new bridges and new homes. The outer edges of the Chalet regions are not complete yet.
The next Linden Home theme reveal should hopefully be known before early-mid July 2021 and it will be most interesting to see where new upcoming LH themes will be placed.
The SL18B regions have come online and at least one of them will have the next LH theme I believe.
On Tuesday 30th March Patch Linden announced the chalet regions release via the Second Life Forums under the Linden Homes section. This release is ahead of when the lab initially anticipated it would take place. This is good timing just before the Easter holidays start. The chalet homes come in four basic models named Matterhorn, Alpenrose, Edelweiss and Reizend.
The Chalet theme homes are modeled after stylized European alpine wood-timbered houses (fachwerhaus). The chalet homes are set on 1024 sq m parcels featuring hills, mountain streams, windmills and more.
The Chalet Linden homes new community center “Die Betrunkene Maus is located in Muehlenbach. This is a great place to hang out with friends and see the seasonal changes. Roughly there is 100 Chalet regions between the Bellisseria continent and the Satori continent.
Here are the continents below in Second Life as of 31st March 2021. The chalet home regions are not showing on the map however I have highlighted in red where they are located.
Once the World Map is fixed it will be great to see the visuals of all of the chalet regions and latest SSP regions when zooming in/out. I really hope the lab gets this sorted during April/May 2021 as its been broken since late October 2020.
The next Linden Home theme will be announced after SL18B so most likely in July 2021.
