For most of 2022 there has not been really much activity going on over at the SSP development regions which is mainly used for the Moles to work on the next Linden Home theme (closed to the public). Almost all of the regions when clicked says invalid location so who knows what’s going on.
This week 98% (at least 60) of the SSP development regions are now showing now showing up as “offline” which is a huge development change I think. There is a small amount of SSP regions left in the area now and in nearby areas. It looks like the Moles may have a new plan for the future of SSP development regions.
It’s unclear what will happen to the SSP development area going forward and if they indeed go offline in the days ahead it would be a small decline in total regions for Second Life for this week.
For the rest of this week and next it’s worth checking these SSP regions to see if they remain on the grid or go offline.
The Modern regions arrived on 6th February and since then the Moles have been building new roadways, lake areas and new Modern homes it appears. There is one region separating the chalet sub continent with the Modern sub continent in the far south. There are a lot of red squares at the moment and they are all going through many checks in order to get them ready for release very soon.
I predict the Modern regions will be released and open to the public before the end of February 2022 if you go on previous Linden Home release trends. I would expect the region mass will increase over the next few weeks and it’s possible that the work on the coastlines will start before Easter.
Latest New Developments as of 11th February 2022
The Newbank region looks like a new community center area or a shopping complex perhaps
There is a pond lake in the Home Grown region and many bridges in many areas
SSP3504, SSP3505, SSP3509, SSP3510, SSP3514 and SSP3515 regions have been added to the red SSP regions block
On Wednesday 9th February Patch Linden said this on the Second Life Forums “our release schedule isn’t tied to any event, or time/date for that matter at all typically. What matters to us is that when it is done and ready, then it will be released“.
I will blog more about further developments in the next week or so. Stay tuned on my blog for that and please subscribe to stay updated. Thanks 🙂
As reported this week 49 new Modern Linden Home regions arrived on the grid and now they are all being prepared for the big release happening very soon. This week there has been an increase in Mole/Linden activity happening in various regions and on the red SSP regions on the other side of the grid.
It’s very exciting to see this big development happening now. I can’t wait to see if these group of regions below highlighted will grow further outwards or stay the same size in the weeks ahead. The connection bridge with the Chalet sub continent will take place very soon.
On the north side of the Chalet sub continent there is still more work in the pipeline including new coastlines, new Chalet homes, new hangout areas and hopefully plenty of water region connections with the Modern regions batch.
No dates have been announced yet on the opening or the bridge connection.
The new Modern region names are now visible on the world map when logged into Second Life. Check out all the interesting region names below.
Here is updated overall photo below of the well known and famous Bellisseria continent as of 1pm SLT on Tuesday 8th February 2022. As you can see the start of the Modern regions are already showing up on the map. Yay! 🙂
Stay tuned on my blog for more updates soon and feel free to subscribe on the right hand side. Please spread the word 🙂
Earlier this month I blogged about the newest 12 SSPE regions that have been added in the north east corner of the Fantasy sub continent. Today the Moles are still working on these regions adding more Fantasy Linden Homes, new roadways, new rez zones and new interesting areas to explore. These regions should be finished by the end of February 2022.
I have noticed this week that there are more red squares in multiple regions across the Fantasy sub continent meaning things could be delayed for some time until the issues have been addressed. This is the same with the Chalet sub continent in the far north east where there are loads of red squares.
Now – Fantasy sub continent map as of Friday 28th January 2022
Before – Fantasy sub continent map as of Tuesday 11th January 2022
Start of 2022 on 5th January 2022 where the new SSPE regions arrived to complete the continent
Good progress is being made overall and I think at some point in February most if not all of the Fantasy sub continent hopefully will be finished. I will blog about further developments later next month.
SSP Development Area – January 2022 Update
As of Friday 28th January 2022 there are now 17 red SSP regions compared with six red SSP regions on 15th December 2021. The red theme is highly likely the Modern Linden theme which was announced in early December 2021 at the SL Christmas Expo.
Now – 28th January 2022
Before – 15th December 2021
More updates will be posted on my blog in February 2022.
Earlier this month five new red SSP regions appeared on the far east side of the SSP Mole development zone which is closed to the public. The SSPSCR region in the north west has been there for some time now. These could be the new Modern Linden Home theme that has recently been revealed at the SL Christmas Expo or it could be the start of development for 2022 Linden home themes.
New Red SSP Regions as of 15th December 2021
It’s worth from time to time viewing these regions on the map for changes. I would imagine more red SSP regions will be added very soon. I will blog when/if new changes happen to these SSP development regions. Stay tuned for that.
This week the southern coastline has been added to the Fantasy sub continent in Second Life and now it’s showing up on the map for the first time. The newest regions are highlighted in red from SSPE2746 to SSPE2755 and the blue arrow on the right hand side is where more regions will be added to fill up the coasts around the sub continent.
Below is the Fantasy sub continent map as of Tuesday 9th November 2021 featuring a brand new west coast line that includes hundreds of new Fantasy Linden homes. The long blue line on the right hand side is what’s coming next with hundreds of more SSPE regions arriving very soon. I think the plan is for the east side coastline of the Fantasy sub continent and the west side of the Chalet coastline to be finished before 2022 starts.
Work will be starting very soon on SSPE2750 and in nearby regions.
I will post more updates on my blog when further big developments happen. Stay tuned for that.
This week the Moles/Lindens have added some more new SSP black themed regions which are now joined together in the SSP development area. SSPNCR appears to be separated (linked with the black theme) away in the north west corner and the SSPSCR region has appeared in the north east corner which I think is the start of a new theme. I’ll be keeping a closer eye on these regions in the weeks ahead.
SSP Development Area Formation Layout
Purple = Chalet regions development
Green = Fantasy regions development
Black = Theme to be announced in the near future
SSPSCR = Possible upcoming theme
These regions are closed off to the public as they are only used by the Moles/Lindens to build upcoming Linden Home themes. In recent months there has not been any major change in formation of these SSP regions until now.
The purple regions below are the Chalet theme regions. I believe the green regions is to do with the Fantasy theme and the black regions theme is still yet to be announced. SSPSCR could be the first region for the next LH theme after the black theme has been announced. We will have to wait and see.
10 new SSP regions have been added recently from SSP3021 to SSP3030 since the start of July 2021. SSP3031 to SSP3035 plus SSP3000 have been on the grid since mid June 2021.
It looks like Abnor Mole has added some new tropical beach waves in SSPE1768 recently which looks really nice. The Moles continue to add new Stilt Linden Homes in nearby regions. Once this area has been completed I think it will be another cool area to hang out with friends.
I really do love the palm trees around SSPE1756 and other areas that the Moles are adding now. For those wondering what the blue boxes are surrounding the these new Linden homes it’s the Linden Homes Stilt Homes Self Centering Bounding Box V2.4.
When looking around the area there are region centerpoint markers 2.0 dotted some in red and some in green which the Moles use as a main marker to work out where the center is of each region for region developments.
As you can see above on the map there are many empty areas of land where more new Stilts will be added very soon. I will revisit this area in the weeks ahead to see whats been added in a upcoming blog post.
It’s been a while since I blogged about the latest developments happening over at the SSP regions and I wanted to share the latest updates as of 26th March 2021. The Moles are continuing to add more Stilt homes over at the Bellisseria continent just north east of the log homes area. There has been no ETA on the latest batch of regions for release yet.
It looks like the SSP regions have expanded again recently by ten regions just above the SSP2531 to SSP2500 line. At the moment these SSP regions are not showing up in terms of map tiles/visuals. It’s worth pointing out that this area of the grid is used for the Moles/Lindens to work on upcoming Linden Home themes.
SSP2521 to SSP2530 are the newer regions
SSP2531 to SSP2500 has been on the grid for some timenow
SSPW6 has appeared on the grid north west of the regions above. It’s not clear what W6 means yet. I guess we will have to wait until after the Chalets have been released after SL18B (mid June-early July).
The LH Dev region and LH Dev 2 region there seems to be various developments happening. The LH Dev 2 region is worth keeping your eyes on as it looks like a shopping area of some sort.
There doesn’t seem to be much happening with the nearby LH Dev Final regions below. It looks like these regions are used for testing/creating new homes.
In recent weeks the Moles have added more railway track and more railway stations on the east side of the log homes continent highlighted in blue on the map below. It’s not yet open to the public for rezzing trains. The wait is almost over.
My last blog post back in late October 2020 I posted that the Moles extended the railway line from SSPE1162 to SSP1165. Since then the railway line has expanded through the middle of the log homes continent going east then turning up north near the new recently opened Stilt homes regions highlighted in red squares.
There are now new railway stations, rez areas, signal points, victorian tunnels, bridges, railway line crossings and much more. The Moles have been working on this railway development since early 2020 and have done a great job going through the different Linden home theme styles.
The latest new railway line starts roughly from SSPE1125 all the way up to SSPE1111 where there is a big loop around. There is a new railway station in SSPE1111 and a train on the tracks nearby.
I believe this is the end of the railway line on the east side of the log homes continent for now. I will blog again if new changes happen next month.
It’s worth flying over the new railway line from one side to the other side of the log homes continent seeing what’s new. I think you will be amazed at all the latest developments.
It’s going to look really exciting when the railway track finally opens in the weeks/months ahead along with new Linden homes. I can’t wait to ride the new railway soon and I’m sure many can’t wait to rez trains too.
Great progress so far overall and I can’t wait to see what comes next throughout this new year.
