First preview of the second batch of new houseboats

First Preview

Let us in

It appears the new second batch of new houseboats have arrived next to the new Bellisseria continent. The lab have moved over the new houseboat expansion in the past 48 hours or so however they are still not accessible to everyone yet. If you max out the draw distance to 1024 (m) in preferences you can move around the new houseboat regions.

Teleport to the (Le Prince) region in Second Life and have a look at the new houseboats.

The houseboat parcels are to set to 32 x 32 (1024 sq) and 16 x 64 (1024 sq). If you zoom into the houseboats (green specs) there are new region names. From first glance it looks really nice and the layout is great. There is a new pickle shop in the centre where you can get free jar of pickles lol.

I would imagine we will see these new houseboat regions open sometime this week. It looks highly likely now.

Poll Results: Traditional Homes Wins

On 1st May I created a new poll to see what everyone preferred more in terms of the different house types on the new Bellisseria continent. The poll was open for a week and in total there were 66 votes. Thanks to everyone that voted.

I personally thought that the houseboats would come out on top as there will be many new houseboat areas opening very soon. Traditional Homes won the poll with 64% of the total vote. Houseboats only had 38% of the vote. I know some that would like to have both house types.

Latest SSP Updates – As of 10th May 2019

  • The lab are working on some completely new themes of houses to release on new regions over the coming months (have not been built yet). I’ll create another poll when we hear more about the new themes.
  • The red and green markets have now disappeared on the houseboats expansion area south of the original SSP continent.
  • Final testing is underway and they are working on releasing the new houseboats very soon. There is still quite a bit of checking and double checking to do.
  • There is a houseboat region joined on with the SLB regions in the south east corner.

The demand is huge now and interest is growing on a daily basis to get a new home. The new Linden Homes section of the SL Forums is a good hub for the latest discussion.

Press Release: Bid The Lindens Bald 2019

Check out this new press release for the upcoming bid the Lindens bald challenge starting from 15th to 22nd May 2019. Apparently five set of Lindens have accepted this challenge already and will be challenging each other to see who can raise the most funds.

The teams that raise the most will keep their hair and the teams that raises the least loses their hair. This sounds like a brilliant fundraiser event which will help American Cancer Society save lives, celebrate lives, and lead the fight for a world without cancer.

Happy Birthday Ebbe Altberg

This week Ebbe Altberg CEO of Linden Lab celebrated his birthday with tons of birthday balloons and cake. 😂😂😂

Happy Birthday Ebbe.

Ebbe has done so much for Second Life over the past five years. He has introduced Mesh, Bento, Animesh, 360 snapshots, experience keys, new resident islands, reduced land costs and much more.

The launch of the new Linden Homes continent last month has been so popular and interest has been on the up for getting a new home.

Ebbe has attended many big events over the years like the annual Second Life birthdays, Lab Chat gatherings and the annual VWPBE conferences. The list goes on.

I’m sure Ebbe has more great things to introduce and roll out in Second Life in the years ahead. I’m sure that the things that are not working so well will be improved too.
