Bellisseria Third Anniversary

It’s time to celebrate 3 years of the Bellisseria continent

Today on Friday 15th April 2022 marks Bellisseria third anniversary in Second Life since the second generation of Linden Homes were first launched on the grid. The Moles and many Lindens have worked really hard over the past three years to keep growing the Bellisseria continent so that more releases can happen regularly.

Join in with the celebrations here

When the Bellisseria continent first opened to the public back on 15th April 2019 there was only like 384 regions. Today there are thousands of Linden Home regions spread over many themed sub continents connecting up to former continents. It’s been exciting to keep track of progress since then and even before that back in late August 2018 when the first 80 SSP regions arrived on the grid.

11th April 2019

A few days or so before the big opening the lab added the Linden Homes section on the Second Life Forums. The SSP? thread is still running today with 263 pages full of historical findings. It’s amazing it’s been active since 21st August 2008.

In early April 2019 Patch Linden went live on Relay Rap Radio Talk Show to talk about the new Linden Homes project that the lab have been working on since mid 2018.

Here are were the updates from the radio show….

  • The opening “will be announced when it happens”
  • Currently “one week past the original roll out date”
  • There will be four house styles to choose from. Eventually “there will be six to eight more styles” for Linden Homes – some 512sq and some 1024sq
  • The new SSP continent will “grow futher down South then East” where the new water regions are
  • It’s recommended to get a new Linden Home quickly as there may be a long wait
  • The old Linden homes will be going away and will be shut down. At least a year or two before this happens.

Back in late March 2019 the first part of the SSP continent showed up on the world map. Over the weeks that followed the continent became much bigger. See the comparison maps below 2020 vs 2021 vs 2022. Linden Lab back then said it was to do with a Super Secret Project they are working on.

During the past year the Chalet, Fantasy and Newbrooke sub continents have arrived on the grid with new areas to explore, more Linden Homes and a bigger community overall. Work is not completely done yet and further expansion of Bellisseria during the next year or two is highly expected.

Newbrooke sub continent

The lab is due to announce details on Premium Plus by the end of May 2022 and maybe there will be more interest for Linden Homes after that. The next theme reveal may happen at SL19B which happens from mid June 2022. The release will most likely happen before the end of the year if there are no delays.

I can’t wait to see what the Bellisseria continent will look like in a year from now and even two years from now. It’s going to be triple the size that’s for sure and I will continue to keep track of new developments on my blog. Stay tuned for that.

Feel free to share your best Bellisseria memories from the past three years in comments.

A Closer View Of The Modern Regions Batch

As reported this week 49 new Modern Linden Home regions arrived on the grid and now they are all being prepared for the big release happening very soon. This week there has been an increase in Mole/Linden activity happening in various regions and on the red SSP regions on the other side of the grid.

It’s very exciting to see this big development happening now. I can’t wait to see if these group of regions below highlighted will grow further outwards or stay the same size in the weeks ahead. The connection bridge with the Chalet sub continent will take place very soon.

On the north side of the Chalet sub continent there is still more work in the pipeline including new coastlines, new Chalet homes, new hangout areas and hopefully plenty of water region connections with the Modern regions batch.

  • No dates have been announced yet on the opening or the bridge connection.

The new Modern region names are now visible on the world map when logged into Second Life. Check out all the interesting region names below.

Here is updated overall photo below of the well known and famous Bellisseria continent as of 1pm SLT on Tuesday 8th February 2022. As you can see the start of the Modern regions are already showing up on the map. Yay! 🙂

Stay tuned on my blog for more updates soon and feel free to subscribe on the right hand side. Please spread the word 🙂

Fantasy Sub Continent – Developments Update – January 2022

SSPE2772

Earlier this month I blogged about the newest 12 SSPE regions that have been added in the north east corner of the Fantasy sub continent. Today the Moles are still working on these regions adding more Fantasy Linden Homes, new roadways, new rez zones and new interesting areas to explore. These regions should be finished by the end of February 2022.

I have noticed this week that there are more red squares in multiple regions across the Fantasy sub continent meaning things could be delayed for some time until the issues have been addressed. This is the same with the Chalet sub continent in the far north east where there are loads of red squares.

Now – Fantasy sub continent map as of Friday 28th January 2022

Before – Fantasy sub continent map as of Tuesday 11th January 2022

Start of 2022 on 5th January 2022 where the new SSPE regions arrived to complete the continent

Good progress is being made overall and I think at some point in February most if not all of the Fantasy sub continent hopefully will be finished. I will blog about further developments later next month.

SSP Development Area – January 2022 Update

As of Friday 28th January 2022 there are now 17 red SSP regions compared with six red SSP regions on 15th December 2021. The red theme is highly likely the Modern Linden theme which was announced in early December 2021 at the SL Christmas Expo.

Now – 28th January 2022

Before – 15th December 2021

More updates will be posted on my blog in February 2022.

New South Coast Added To Fantasy Sub Continent

This week the southern coastline has been added to the Fantasy sub continent in Second Life and now it’s showing up on the map for the first time. The newest regions are highlighted in red from SSPE2746 to SSPE2755 and the blue arrow on the right hand side is where more regions will be added to fill up the coasts around the sub continent.

Below is the Fantasy sub continent map as of Tuesday 9th November 2021 featuring a brand new west coast line that includes hundreds of new Fantasy Linden homes. The long blue line on the right hand side is what’s coming next with hundreds of more SSPE regions arriving very soon. I think the plan is for the east side coastline of the Fantasy sub continent and the west side of the Chalet coastline to be finished before 2022 starts.

Work will be starting very soon on SSPE2750 and in nearby regions.

I will post more updates on my blog when further big developments happen. Stay tuned for that.

New West Fantasy Batch Of Regions Arrive

In the past week or so a new batch of Fantasy SSPE regions have been added down the western side of the Fantasy sub continent in Second Life. They appear dark on the world map (see below) from SSPE2736 to SSPE2721. The Moles are working on these new SSPE regions now adding hundreds of more Fantasy Linden Homes which will be available in the weeks ahead.

Further batches of new SSPE regions are set to arrive in the weeks ahead around the coastal areas of the Fantasy and Chalet sub continents. When those developments happen I will blog about it for sure. Stay tuned for that.

Keep a look out for new SSPE regions soon. It’s likely we will hear about the next Linden Home theme later this year and that will probably happen at the SL Christmas Expo 2021. At least another two LH themes during 2022 and maybe into 2023.

New Chalet South Development

Update as of 15th October 2021

New south development – 15th October 2021

The new Chalet south development work started recently and soon hundred’s of new houseboats will be added along with Chalet/Stilts Linden Homes on the coastal areas. The Moles are using a number of coloured squares to keep track of overall progress.

From SSPE2215 to SSPE2248 new Chalet home parcel markers have been created already with more work happening in the days ahead. Beyond SSPE2248 there are more houseboat parcels that have been placed going all the way up the east coast of the Chalet sub continent. These regions are not fully finished yet.

The Moles are definitely adding more new areas faster in recent weeks it appears and it’s going to be great once the chalet sub continent has been completed. I think once the east and south development is finished the Moles will most likely move to adding the west/north development.

New houseboats in SSPE2218

Here are just some of the new areas in the south development.

  • SSPE2253: New Chalet homes and Stilt homes have been added. Region not finished yet.
  • SSPE2252: Possible rez area coming soon. Empty at the moment.
  • SSPE2247: Houseboats will be added very soon

New Fantasy Linden Homes sub continent will be ready soon

The Moles have recently added at least 185 regions for the new Fantasy Linden Homes sub continent which is due to open to the public within the next few weeks hopefully. There are some areas that it could be connected up with the mainland of the Bellisseria continent via Nelson Eddy, Hanshin, SSPE1456 (south side of the log homes continent). We will have to wait and see what the Moles decide to do with possible connections.

There are many awesome region names on this new sub continent and great work whoever came up with those. The Moles have a lot of QA to do marked in the yellow/purple squares below which may still take some time to do before new Fantasy Linden homes becomes available.

In the mean time have a look at the new Chalet regions especially the central areas where the river runs through for new hangout points, rez zones, new railway extensions and two new airstrips. It’s amazing already and the Moles are still building up them in various regions.

SSP black themed regions join together

SSP Black Themed Regions – 28th July 2021

This week the Moles/Lindens have added some more new SSP black themed regions which are now joined together in the SSP development area. SSPNCR appears to be separated (linked with the black theme) away in the north west corner and the SSPSCR region has appeared in the north east corner which I think is the start of a new theme. I’ll be keeping a closer eye on these regions in the weeks ahead.

SSP Development Area Formation Layout

  • Purple = Chalet regions development
  • Green = Fantasy regions development
  • Black = Theme to be announced in the near future
  • SSPSCR = Possible upcoming theme

These regions are closed off to the public as they are only used by the Moles/Lindens to build upcoming Linden Home themes. In recent months there has not been any major change in formation of these SSP regions until now.

The purple regions below are the Chalet theme regions. I believe the green regions is to do with the Fantasy theme and the black regions theme is still yet to be announced. SSPSCR could be the first region for the next LH theme after the black theme has been announced. We will have to wait and see.

SSP Development Area – 28th July 2021

10 new SSP regions have been added recently from SSP3021 to SSP3030 since the start of July 2021. SSP3031 to SSP3035 plus SSP3000 have been on the grid since mid June 2021.

SSP Development Area – 1st July 2021

Stay tuned for more SSP development updates soon.

New Chalet Airstrip Discovered In Buffalo Springs

First Preview Of Buffalo Springs Airstrip

This week the Moles have added a brand new airstrip in the Buffalo Springs region which is located north of the Chalet regions in Second Life. The new airstrip is still under construction and should be finished within the next week or so. There is a rez zone for sailing and a hang out spot I think linked with the new airstrip. This airstrip shows up on the map now for reference.

The Bellisseria continent now has four airstrips to fly between which is really good news. Hopefully the Moles will add more airstrips in upcoming new Linden Home themes expected later in 2021/2022.

Come and fly around the Chalet regions and the Bellisseria continent.

Chalet Linden Homes Development Update – July 2021

Chalet sub continent – 5th July 2021

The Moles have been very busy in recent weeks building new Chalet Linden Homes and landscaping more of the Chalet sub continent which is apart of the Bellisseria continent. Good progress is being made through the middle central areas heading up north eastwards. Development mainly started in the Hydrant region at the start of June 2021 and now it’s reached the Brookside region. There is some work being made east of the Stilt regions which is due to be finished soon.

Brookside

Work will start soon in the Baylor Creek region which will head all the way up to the Carmine Sky region. More Chalet Linden Homes are expected to be built in the weeks ahead and the new extension of the new Chalet railway line. There is still loads to look forward to and more new areas will be added in the weeks ahead.

A closer view of new developments (colour squares = progress)

As many know there is a new airstrip that has been built recently in the Bergheim region which looks really nice now. There is a rez zone here to unpack your planes/aircraft.

Check it out today – SLURL > http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Bergheim/161/125/23

New Rez Zones

I will blog again next month on the latest Chalet developments. Stay tuned for that.
