During the weekend a whole lot of new red SSP regions were added in the SSP development area. The red SSP regions relates to the Modern Linden Home theme (Newbrooke) due to be released very soon. This is the size it gets normally when a release is about to happen. Keep a watch out on the Second Life Forums under the Linden Homes section.
Over the past few months more and more red SSP regions have joined up together. These regions are closed to the public and are used for Linden Home developments.
The upcoming Second Life Home and Garden Expo starts this weekend on Saturday 26th February through until Sunday 20th March 2022. The Home and Garden Expo is one of the most popular running events in Second Life. The goal is supporting Relay For Life through it’s fundraising efforts from sponsorships, contests, donation items, entertainment, exhibitor fees and much more. There will be loads of volunteers helping at this event so give them a friendly hello.
The expo offers something for anyone who is looking for new ideas for their new home from furnishing and décor to seeing the latest home trends in Second Life. This is a great opportunity for those that want to improve on their building skills etc.
This week Patch Linden has said that there will be no scheduled showings and are not part of the event this year relating to new Linden Home themes. See update here.
The Newbrooke theme, and the following theme will be released when we are ready to release them. They have nothing to do with Home & Garden, we are not part of the event this year, and the Moles and I do not have any scheduled showings at the event.

* * Fantasy Faire 2022, April 21 – May 8* * A Benefit for the American Cancer Society
Many Realms – One Vision. Fantasy Faire 2022: Building a World Without Cancer
Since 2009, Fantasy Faire has been the largest gathering of fantasy designers, enthusiasts, role-players, and performers in the virtual world of Second Life®. It is also one of the most successful Relay For Life (RFL) fundraising teams worldwide. The 2021 Faire ranked 19th out of 5,000 RFL teams around the globe. Over its fourteen years, the Faire has raised more than $533,000 US Dollars, or over L$133,250,000 Linden Dollars.
For the past five years, the Faire has dedicated its fundraising efforts to the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) global service and support programs, including the recently launched project BEACON (Building Expertise, Advocacy, and Capacity for Oncology Navigation).
A partnership with nine health institutions and organizations in Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America, BEACON builds on the success of similar ACS programs in the US and elsewhere. The project answers the call from healthcare professionals and cancer patients in those areas for life-saving information that can dramatically increase survival rates. “Fantasy Faire is one of the cornerstones of our vital work,” says Kristie McComb, Managing Director of Global Capacity Development and Patient Support at the ACS. “It’s an inspiring example of a global community working together to address a global challenge.”
The Faire has long been considered the premier annual shopping event for fantasy-themed merchandise in Second Life, showcasing fantasy avatars, clothing, furnishings, gadgets, and exclusive items by 250 of the grid’s top fantasy creators. In addition, Faire visitors enjoy dance and theater performances; attend auctions, art galleries, and a Literary and Film Festival; and share in an interactive quest and roleplaying events and classes.
Fantasy Faire Radio provides the soundtrack for visitors exploring the Fairelands, featuring music from blockbuster fantasy films along with a rich variety of world music traditions. A second radio station, “Live at the Fairechylde” features DJs spinning an upbeat, eclectic mix of tracks including classic rock, club music, jazz, blues, and pop hits. In 2021, more than 30,000 unique listeners tuned in from over 150 countries around the world.
It all comes to life again this year when the Fairelands return on April 21st. “I’m always deeply moved that a realm made of ones and zeros has become home to a global community capable of affecting positive change for all humankind” says Elizabeth Tinsley, Executive Director of Fantasy Faire. “It doesn’t stop at the border between the virtual and the physical. In fact, that’s where the real magic truly starts.”
Fantasy Faire 2022 will be open to the public April 21 – May 8. The SLurl to the event will be found on the website on our opening day. We welcome you to come and join the story.
Fantasy Faire 2022 is made possible by the generous support of our Region and Event Sponsors, all of whom you can learn more about on the Faire’s website. For more information please contact one of the Faire coordinators: https://fantasyfairesl.wordpress.com/organizers/

The new Firestorm Viewer splash page went live during this weekend and it’s now visible when logging into the Firestorm Viewer. On 10th February there was a brief moment or two where it changed then went back to the default view. I think it looks really good now as you can see all the important information at a glance. Great work 🙂
What’s New ?
The grid status and slightly technical parts are shown at the very top of the new splash page followed by Firestorm Blog postings, Linden News and the Blogger Network postings. Under that there are showcase places from the Second Life Destination Guide (What’s Hot Now, Recently Added, Featured Events and Editors Picks. All the links open and are direct to the destination. There are social media links located in the top right corner to stay updated via Flickr, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
The Old Firestorm Viewer Splash Pages
What do you think of the new look Firestorm Viewer splash page ?
The Modern regions arrived on 6th February and since then the Moles have been building new roadways, lake areas and new Modern homes it appears. There is one region separating the chalet sub continent with the Modern sub continent in the far south. There are a lot of red squares at the moment and they are all going through many checks in order to get them ready for release very soon.
I predict the Modern regions will be released and open to the public before the end of February 2022 if you go on previous Linden Home release trends. I would expect the region mass will increase over the next few weeks and it’s possible that the work on the coastlines will start before Easter.
Latest New Developments as of 11th February 2022
The Newbank region looks like a new community center area or a shopping complex perhaps
There is a pond lake in the Home Grown region and many bridges in many areas
SSP3504, SSP3505, SSP3509, SSP3510, SSP3514 and SSP3515 regions have been added to the red SSP regions block
On Wednesday 9th February Patch Linden said this on the Second Life Forums “our release schedule isn’t tied to any event, or time/date for that matter at all typically. What matters to us is that when it is done and ready, then it will be released“.
I will blog more about further developments in the next week or so. Stay tuned on my blog for that and please subscribe to stay updated. Thanks 🙂
The 2022 annual Dunk-A-Linden & Hug-A-Linden Event will be officially happening from 1pm to 3pm SLT/PT on Monday 14th February 2022. Show your love for the makers of Second Life. There are four Isle of View regions like in previous years and they are open to the public now.
The 2022 romantic valentine’s cruise will start at Campwich Forest starting at 10am SLT on Saturday 12th February 2022. The route goes up north through the nice river areas and then it finishes at the Bellisseria Fairgrounds where there will be a party lasting for roughly four hours until 2pm SLT.
11.30am SLT+ – special live performer followed by live DJs until 2pm SLT
The cruise should last approximately 50 minutes and there are kiosks placed inworld to collect the map of the route along with music streams. It’s actually a good route to follow on both legs to be honest.
As reported this week 49 new Modern Linden Home regions arrived on the grid and now they are all being prepared for the big release happening very soon. This week there has been an increase in Mole/Linden activity happening in various regions and on the red SSP regions on the other side of the grid.
It’s very exciting to see this big development happening now. I can’t wait to see if these group of regions below highlighted will grow further outwards or stay the same size in the weeks ahead. The connection bridge with the Chalet sub continent will take place very soon.
On the north side of the Chalet sub continent there is still more work in the pipeline including new coastlines, new Chalet homes, new hangout areas and hopefully plenty of water region connections with the Modern regions batch.
No dates have been announced yet on the opening or the bridge connection.
The new Modern region names are now visible on the world map when logged into Second Life. Check out all the interesting region names below.
Here is updated overall photo below of the well known and famous Bellisseria continent as of 1pm SLT on Tuesday 8th February 2022. As you can see the start of the Modern regions are already showing up on the map. Yay! 🙂
Stay tuned on my blog for more updates soon and feel free to subscribe on the right hand side. Please spread the word 🙂
Over 40 new Modern Linden Home regions have arrived on the grid during the past 24 hours. They are all located on the north west side of the Chalet sub continent. This was a surprise to many as thought they would appear next month at the earliest.
The Modern theme was announced at last year’s SL Christmas Expo that included a Linden Reveal region to preview the new theme. Two months later and at long last the regions have arrived.
As of Monday 7th February 2022 there are 49 new Modern regions. The infrastructure and new homes will be added very soon. I think the regions are closed for public access in the short time. It should not be that long now until the Modern regions are connected with the chalet sub continent.
