Second Life Statistics Update – October 2018

Private Estates Positive Growth Update

According to Tyche Shepherd via VirtualVerse on 23rd September 2018 the year to date for private estates net change is now positive with the addition of 45 regions (0.3% growth) since 31st December 2017. This means the total amount of main grid regions has regrown to the size it was back in April 2017. Yay! 🙂

This is very good news to hear positive growth for private estates in 2018 so far. I think the summer price reductions on land this year in Second Life has made a positive difference this year. The grid is slowly growing again and I hope this trend will continue.

SSP Regions Starting To Take Shape

1st October 2018

The new SSP regions are now starting to take shape with the new addition of either pathways or roads from the middle upwards of the continent. It looks like new docking areas have been added around the coastline. New waterways have formed which will be great to sail through when it’s fully completed.

Just a month ago the SSP regions looked rather empty. see below. Today (above snapshot) so much has changed and it’s exciting to see what the regions will look like in a months time.

It’s unknown still what the regions will be used for but many are saying it could be used for new Linden Homes, new Horizons Homes or new Linden Realm games. Maybe the regions will be just for just premium members / new premium homes.

2nd September 2018
20th August 2018

Still no official announcements from Linden Lab on what these regions will be used for. Hopefully the lab will announce something before the end of 2018.
