The 2017 Relay For Life of Second Life Season Starts 5th March

The 2017 Relay For Life of Second Life season officially starts at 10am SLT with the opening ceremony on Sunday 5th March 2017 over at the RFL regions. The festivities start from 9am SLT with more events planned during the day.

The Artist’s Palette event in Second Life starts 10th March 2017

The Artist’s Palette event will open at 8am SLT on Friday 10th March through until 31st March 2017 in Second Life. The main goal of this event is to gather at least 40 creators from across the grid of different cultures to showcase their work linking to the theme of color, creativity and culture. The event is organised by the Sunset Mist Event Management.

THEME:  Color, Creativity and Culture

Objective.
To be able to gather content creators of SecondLife on a fair to showcase and sell 1 or more of their creations that is within the theme.
To assist in promotion of their business and creations; and, to generate income through this fair for the designer’s SL business.
To give awareness to other residents about one’s cultures through one’s creation/item or object for sale.
To aid in building awareness among residents of SecondLife on the matter of eliminating discrimination in all forms.

Goal.
Our goal is to gather at least 40 creators of different cultures to showcase their work following our theme: color, creativity and culture.
To organize events that will not just create sales and popularity but to also be able to share information and education amongst the residents.
With this, we will be able to help each other in understanding one’s culture and life. An awareness that can build respect and unity among us in SecondLife and in Real Life.
And, through this, we hope that, even in a small way, we, together with the creators, will be able to help in stopping the segregations of race, language, nationality, gender, status, et al.

FASHION FOR LIFE 2017 GETS READY TO TAKE THE STAGE!

Relay for Life of Second Life announces the first mega event of the 2017 Season, Fashion For Life 2017. The event will take place on March 5th, 2017 and run until midnight on March 19th, 2017. As always 100% of proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society.

The goal of the event is to provide an incredible shopping and entertainment experience featuring unique items, runway shows. Lend your support to Relay For Life, the largest and longest charity in Second Life.

Some of the past themes have been Heaven/Hell (2007), St. Patrick’s Day (2008), Pirates (2009), Fashion Capitols of the World (2010), Beyond Black and White (2011), It’s time (2012), The Seven Ancient Wonders of the World (2013), Wanderlust (2014), Tour through the Capitals (2015), and last years theme That’s Entertainment! (2016).

This years theme is… Glamorous.
Styles will range from formal to bohemian in a beautiful high fashion glamorous sim.

Featuring everything Fashion in SL. Another HUGE shopping event to fight cancer. Multiple sims and fabulous builds along with some of SLs best designers, who come together each year to bring fun, fashion and entertainment to the grid! This Relay For Life mega event had its beginning in 2007 when it was called, “the Clothing Fair”.

About Relay For Life of Second Life:
Relay For Life of Second Life is an annual fundraising event that takes place in Second Life in July each year. Volunteers form or join teams to have fun while fundraising and raising awareness from mid-March through mid-July. In July teams build campsites and walk a track, just like a Real World Relay. Since 2005, RFL of SL has raised over $3 million USD for the American Cancer Society.  Since 1985, Relay For Life has become an international movement with over 5,000 Relays being held around the world.
