2016 was a really good year for events in Second Life and I loved attending almost all of them. 2017 is here so now it’s time to look forward to all those exciting events happening in the weeks and months ahead.
I think the annual and major events will be absolutely amazing during 2017. Don’t forget to mark these key events on your calendars today and spread the word.
2017 Annual Events Ahead
- Bay City Annual Events 2017 – Mole Day, Fashion Week, Bay City 9th Anniversary, Hot Bay City Nights, Tree Lighting, Prim Drop expected to take place this year
- BURN2 2017 – The Fire Moon Event starts 27th – 29th January 2017 (more annual BURN2 events will be happening during the course of 2017)
- The Arcade 2017 – Next arcade event happening in 57 days (Opens March, June, September & December 2017)
- Relay For Life of Second Life 2017 Season – Kick off of the new season starts 5th March 2017 – Theme: Passport to Cure
2017 Major Events Ahead
- One Billion Rising in Second Life 2017 – Estimated to be around the 11th – 14th February 2017
- 10th Annual Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education Conference (VWBPE 2017) – 29th March to 1st April 2017 – Theme: Legacy
- Nova Albion 13th Anniversary – March 2017
- 1920s Berlin Project 8th Anniversary – 30th May 2017+
- Second Life Official 14th Birthday – 23rd June 2017 – (Watch out for the SL14B Community Celebration event happening before/after this date)
- Firestorm Viewer 7th Anniversary – Expected to take place in early September 2017

Sansar is expected to open to the public sometime during January 2017 if all goes to plan. “Sansar allows you to create, share, and monetize your own social VR experiences”.
My 11th Rezday in Second Life takes place on 31st October 2017 and I’m pretty looking forward to that this year. 🙂
Wow so much is happening during 2017 in Second Life and it’s going to be so much fun this year. I am looking forward again to attending, sharing my thoughts and snapshots with everyone this year.
