The 12th annual RFL of SL relay weekend will be taking place at the RFL regions on Saturday 16th to Sunday 17th July 2016. Relay weekend is a fun event rasing money for the fight against cancer and it’s one of the largest events of the season. Relay For Life is the signature event of the American Cancer Society and the first RFL of SL event started back in 2005.

RFL of SL Milestones
- 2005 – the first Relay For Life of Second Life was attended by a few hundred avatars and raised almost $6, 000 US dollars
- 2010 – over $220, 000 US dollars was raised
- 2011 – 1 million US dollars was raised
- 2012 – 1.5 million US dollars was raised
- 2014 – 2 million US dollars was raised
- 2016 – fast approaching the 3 million US dollars mark
