Linden Lab announces Marketplace Search Beta

Marketplace Beta

On 11th November Linden Lab announced Marketplace Search Beta with improved relevance of search results and more. The lab is working on an important feature that will let you exclude keynotes when searching.

Try it out > https://betasearch-marketplace.secondlife.com

Here is the lab announcement on the Marketplace Search Beta…

We’re pleased to share that improvements to the existing Marketplace search functionality are now available through Marketplace Search Beta.  We’ve made infrastructure changes to improve the relevance of search results – making it easier for you to find what you’re looking for! We have also made changes for search to scale better as more content and categories are added to the Marketplace – and that means the newest creations and additions are at your fingertips.  We are still working on an important feature, which will allow you to exclude keywords (such as “demo”) from your search – but want to get this into your hands now and get your feedback!

Bugs & Issues

If you see any issues, please file a BUG JIRA with the SLM Beta Search component.  For general comments and feedback, visit this forum thread. Happy shopping!

Linden Lab announces First Lab Chat

On 10th November Linden Lab announced interesting details about a new Q&A show in Second Life called Lab Chat. On Thursday 19th November starting at 10.30am SLT the first Lab Chat will take place at the Linden Endowment for the Arts Theatre in Second Life featuring Ebbe Linden. This is a great opportunity to ask Lindens your questions on Second Life, Project Sansar and more!

There is a special forum thread set up to add your questions. Get your questions into the thread no later than Friday 13th November 2015.

The event will be recorded and will be archived after the show ends. The Lab Chat production team will pick selected questions from the forum thread to ask Ebbe Linden. Hopefully there will be time for audience questions near the end of the event.

Meet the Lindens series and VWBPE Linden keynote talks have worked really well this year and I enjoyed watching them. I hope the new Lab Chat will work out well and hopefully there will be more Lab Chats in the months ahead.

We will have to wait and see.
