Land grants are expected to be completed and then to be open to the public within the six month grant period.

The Linden Endowment of the Arts is an official Linden Community Partnership program whose purpose is to help new artists, cultivate art in SL, and foster creativity, innovation, and collaboration within the art community.

Important Dates

  • November 2nd – Round 10 applications open
  • November 30th – Round 10 applications close
  • December 10th – Notifications sent out
  • January 1st – Hand over regions to recipients
  • June 30th – End of round 10

Criteria

There is no one ‘right’ project that qualifies for a land grant. All types of art builds are considered, including immersive builds, highly technical and scripted work, and projects embracing collaborative, curatorial, or education projects. ANYONE has a chance at getting a sim, provided you can demonstrate that you have an idea for a great project and that you are able to complete it in the 6-month grant period.

Recipients will also be expected to present at least one event at some point within their residency. This could be an art opening, or it could be lectures or demonstrations. It could be an ongoing event, as well.
