As many know already VWBPE 2014 will be held on 9th-12th April 2014 in Second Life and on OS Grid this year. There will be many well known keynote and featured speakers for this year’s conference including Philip Rosedale, Ebbe Altberg, Maria Korolov, Justin Clark, David Gibson and many more.
I think this is very exciting news to hear that VWBPE 2014 is officially happening and I think the keynote/featured speakers sessions will be interesting to attend. The VWBPE 2013 conference took place in late July 2013 with more than 100 attendees attending. This year it’s been moved much earlier and I hope it will be another successful year.
I first became interested in VWBPE in Second Life back in March 2010 and since then the conference gets bigger. See my blog coverage over the years and snapshots since 2010.
I’ve been told there will be press tour happening once the new builds are done both in Second Life and on the OS Grid. It’s not yet known when that will be. For more details see the immediate press release below with links, dates, locations and the main keynote speakers for VWBPE 2014.

VWBPE 2014 Kick-Off “Connections”
April 9 starts the 4 day Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education Conference, with an amazing line-up of speakers, panels, workshops, sim demonstrations, poster presentations, and more. The conference will cover a wide range of subjects concerning virtual worlds and their use for education, virtual reality, smart games, arts and science, and the future of technology.
This year’s keynote speakers include Philip Rosedale, CEO of High Fidelity, founder of Linden Lab and creator of Second Life, and Ebbe Altberg, the new CEO of Second Life.
Over the coming days, each VWBPE conference keynote speaker and their respective presentations will be featured on the conference website (http://vwbpe.org ), along with information on featured panels, exciting social activities, and networking events that will set extraordinary discussions in motion. Additionally, this open and free conference would not be possible without the generous contributions of VWBPE sponsors.
