On Friday 28th February 2014 Linden Lab announced that they are making new changes to the Second Life JIRA system. The new changes will come into affect next week on Monday 3rd March 2014.
Full details can be found here.
New JIRA changes
- “All users will be able to see all BUG issues, all the time.”
- “You’ll also be able to comment.”
- ““New Feature Request” is back!”
This is a good step in the right direction and is welcomed I think. When the new changes come into effect next week it will allow for a “better, more transparent and more productive experience for all of us”. The recent system “wasn’t very transparent” and was not a good experience. In the long run it will help Second Life continue to improve and make submitting bug reports so much easier than in previous years.
Yay!
What took them so long!

I agree – this is a step in the right direction. For me, reporting bugs became a chore. I hate filing a bug report that duplicates another, but there was no clear way to make sure I wasn’t filing a duplicate. By opening up the JIRA, LL not only helps those of us who report bugs, it helps itself by hopefully not having to wade through multiple reports concerning one issue. Efficiency! I love it. 🙂
