InWorldz Relay for Life Weekend 2012

On Friday 2nd November through to Sunday 4th InWorldz will be having its first Relay For Life Weekend. I’m really looking forward to attending and experiencing a Relay For Life event on the grid of InWorldz. I have always enjoyed the big scale version of relay for life on the main grid of Second Life and each year just gets better.

Today I went along to watch Designing Worlds where the guests talked about the first Inworldz RFL event 2012. Check out my snapshot of my owl avatar behind the seats. The theme this year is Colour of Hope and raised money will go to the American Cancer Society. There will be 4 regions for RFL of InWorldz 2012 and its going to be interesting to see how it compares with the main RFL event in SL. 😀

The Relay For Life of InWorldz closing party is set for Saturday 17th November 2012. Mark it on your calendars!

BURN2 2012 opens in 5 days in Second Life

There are now 5 days until the official opening of BURN2 2012 in Second Life at 12pm SLT on Saturday 20th October 2012. The countdown continues to tick down and it’s building up excitement for this year’s event. I have added a countdown widget on my blog on the right hand side of my blog. Are you excited about BURN2 2012 ?

Over 40 live performers have signed up and with more than 50 DJs for BURN2 2012. Greeters and new 2012 rangers have finished training. Preparations are still taking place to get everything ready on time. We now know that the BURN2 Press/Bloggers Day 2012 will take place on Thursday 18th October 2012 which is going to very interesting to preview many awesome builds.

What is BURN2?

BURN2 is an extension of the Burning Man festival and community into the world of Second Life. It is an officially sanctioned Burning Man regional event, and the only virtual world event out of more than 100 real world Regional groups, and the only Regional to burn the Man!

The BURN2 Team spreads Burning Culture and Burning Man Ten Principles year round in Second Life, culminating in an annual major festival of community, art and fire in the fall – a virtual echo of Burning Man itself.

To access BURN2 in Second Life, you will need a Second Life viewer installed on a computer that meets software and hardware requirements, and we suggest a broadband Internet connection of 2Mbps or better. To find BURN2 once you’re logged in, do a map search for Burning Man. You can’t miss us!
