About 18 hours ago or so Rodvik Linden responded to his Quick update post on Last Names saying that he will respond to the issue sometime today more in-depth which is a step forward again I think. Most likely the details will be published on the SL official blog or Rodvik’s SL web online profile page. Stay tuned!
Virtual Worlds Best Practices in Education will be celebrating it’s 5th annual conference in Second Life this month between 15th-17th March 2012. I’m really looking forward to VWBPE 2012 because it’s going to be EPIC fun and bigger than ever before. If you are interested in volunteering for VWBPE 2012 IM CallieDel Boa for more details. The Virtual Worlds Best Practice in Education (VWBPE) is a community-based conference that provides opportunities for participants in all virtual worlds to share current teaching, learning, and research practices in 3D virtual environments. Conference presentations focus on teaching/learning, scholarly work, projects, events, activities and new and innovative tools for virtual education. Presenters focus on the identification of best practices in education designed for 3D virtual world technology.
There’s alot of useful 2012 information in the VWBPE Gateway region including social feeds and web prims. VWBPE Gateway is currently open to the public and everyone is welcome to visit to collect info. However the VWBPE Central regions are still closed and I guess final preparations are taking place now in time for the opening ceremony. I’m not sure if there’s going to be 20 sims like there was last year and I guess we will have to wait and see.
There will be live coverage/recordings at VWBPE 2012 which will be covered by Metaverse TV and Treet.TV. 🙂
Overall snapshot of the VWBPE Gateway region which looks fantastic.
